Contemporary Christian Music in the Catholic Church

An enlightening summer series with music expert Tim Boisvert as we delve into the fascinating world of Contemporary Music as Hymns

Starting on

June 17, 2024

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Contemporary Christian Music
in the Catholic Church

The Sacred Music Series returns to La Salette this summer with two weekly workshops.  The first is an introduction to Contemporary Christian Music in the Catholic Church.  Topics covered will be Contemporary artists in the Catholic Hymnal, converting Christian songs into hymns, how to use these hymns in the Catholic Liturgy, and adopting music from non-Catholic artists.  We will listen to several artists/bands and learn how they compose their music, and how it initially differs from hymn-writing.  Included will be the appropriate ways to incorporate Contemporary Music into the Mass and for use in other Catholic Services.
