ABOUT

THE PROGRAM

Almost everyone knows something about Joan of Arc. She is arguably the most famous and popular woman of the Middle Ages.  But who was she? What did she really accomplish? How and why did she become St. Joan?  Using lectures, films and interactive discussion, this day of reflection approaches St. Joan (1412-1431) as both a well-documented historical figure, and as a Catholic saint whose short life poses many provocative questions. What are some of the many dynamic ways in which she has been remembered and portrayed? How can studying and invoking St. Joan inspire and challenge us today.
