AGING
GRACEFULLY

OCTOBER 20-22, 2026

Discover the grace, creativity, and gifts of life’s third age, and dare to believe the best may still be ahead.

ABOUT THE RETREAT

Aging Gracefully

In the first age we grow up and prepare to become adults.
In the second age we envision how we will make a difference in this world by the work that we do and by our contributions to and for our families, friends and our world.
In our third age is when we retire or semi-retire. Here, we are challenged to develop our creativity, accept the changes that take place physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. ARE WE READY TO BELIEVE THE BEST IS YET TO COME? What graces and what gifts will we discover in ourselves and others on this last trek of our journey to God?

Session 1

A Call to Something New

We are called to let go of what used to be and embrace what is. How do we invite God on this journey?

At times it can be stressful and it requires a shift in our self-perception where adjustments need to be made.

Session 2

A Time To Reminisce and a Call to

Interior Freedom

We reflect on what we have done and on what we have not done. We are challenged to deal with regrets and welcome gratitude as a way of life. How can we enjoy what is, and grieving what is no longer?

Session 3

An Invitation to Stewardship in Health

of Body, Mind,

Heart and Soul

As our physical health and strength start to decline, it becomes an opportunity to embrace the Spirit at work in us for our total transformation in Christ. It can be and become a time to give back to others, affirming the young around us and encouraging others in their “elderhood.”

Session 4

Receiving

the Gift of Wisdom

and Embracing the Cross

Wisdom is about humility and accepting our need for God’s Mercy. It is about embracing the Cross of Christ and becoming a child again. It is about emptying ourselves and accepting our poverty while bearing witness to God’s Love within us and beyond us.
