"How Jesus Heals Us" is an online meditation on an unusual healing in the Gospel of Mark. Every one of us is in need of healing, for we are all wounded by sin and brokenness in ourselves as well as in the world around us. Jesus comes as Savior, as Healer, to reveal the desire of God for our wholeness and wellbeing. Yet our experience frequently is that we are not healed as we desire and expect, and we often struggle with our painful situation.

Mark 8:23-27 tells us of Jesus’ encounter with a blind man which is highly unusual: the man is not healed right away, unlike all other accounts of Jesus’ healing activities recorded in the Gospels; and Jesus uses an extraordinary means to effect this particular healing - His saliva.

What’s going on here, and how can this encounter inform us about the process of our own healing?

When you register for this online event, you will receive a brief, thought-provoking essay, “How Jesus Heals” written by Christine Rubinstein. You will also receive some challenging reflection questions relating to the essay topic of healing. During the presentation, some questions about healing and possible impediments to healing will be discussed.

Through the presentation and reflection questions, you will be helped to have a better perspective on your own healing connection with Jesus. And you will be challenged to press more deeply into your relationship with Him in prayer. If you are unable to join us for the actual session, you will still receive the essay and the reflection questions when you register. Additionally, you will receive a link to the video presentation for you to view at your convenience after the online event occurs.
