This  retreat is being given by Fr. Leo LeBlanc and Fr. Ken Cardinale. It  begins with Mass at 11:15 AM on Tuesday, October 1 and concludes on  Thursday, October 3 with Mass at 11:15 AM. It is given in a relaxed  atmosphere with four talks. Both evenings will offer DVD Episodes from  “The Chosen” series which specifically relate to St. Matthew. People are  invited to bring munchies, desserts and beverages to share on Wednesday  evening after the DVD.

Talks will explore

• the background of Matthew’s Gospel and his call to be an apostle.
• The centrality of the Beatitudes as the blueprint of the whole Gospel
• The importance of proclaiming the kingdom of heaven and revealing himself as light in our darkness
• Although  it will cost us everything, Jesus makes us rich in what counts. For we  are saved by the self-sacrificing, indwelling love of a divine person,  and not by abstract teachings.

Our  primary text besides Matthew’s Gospel is the introduction to the Book  Praying with St. Matthew’s Gospel, Fr. Peter Cameron, Ed. (Magnificat  Publication)
