About the Event

ABOUT THE ONE-DAY ONLINE WORKSHOP - Virtuous Well-being; the Mark of a Christ-Centered Life.

First Talk (10:00 AM - 10:45 AM): Clothing Ourselves with the Mind of Christ - Biblical Perspective (2Peter 1:3-10)

Since ancient times the question regarding well-being has intrigued the minds of the greatest thinkers of every culture and civilization in an attempt to satisfy once and for all the quest and thirst for human flourishing.

The Bible is no exception. In his second letter (2Peter 1:3-10), Peter illustrates how faith in Jesus, the Christ, reframes our understanding of human flourishing. Through a close reading of 2Peter 1:3-10, Fr. Flavio will explore how Peter’s exhortation to live a virtuous life can inspire our own unique process of growth.

Second Talk (11:00 AM - 11:45 AM): Clothing Ourselves with the Mind of Christ - Psychological Perspective

In the last two decades, positive psychologists have focused on what creates a life of well-being and human flourishing. They asked probing questions such as, “What does well-being look like?”, and “What creates a life of human flourishing?”.

Dr. Sally Riconscente will unfold the universal character strengths and virtues identified by leading positive psychologists as essential and intrinsically valuable characteristics of a well-lived and fulfilled life.

Third Talk (2:00 PM - 2:45 PM): Clothing Ourselves with the Mind of Christ - Identifying Your Own Character Strengths

Psychological character strengths and virtues align with the abundant life spoken of by Jesus the Christ and are the marks of a Christ-Centered life.

Drawing on the research of Positive Psychology, the third session will provide an opportunity to identify your own constellation of character strengths and virtues, as a preliminary bridge to our final session today.

-------------------- COFFEE BREAK --------------------

Fourth Talk (3:00 PM - 3:45 PM): Clothing Ourselves with the Mind of Christ - Kernels of Practical and Spiritual Wisdom

Character strengths and virtues have limitless potential for growth. They need to be nurtured and cultivated.

Drawing from the findings of the day (Bible and Psychology) the fourth and final session will disclose some kernels of practical and spiritual wisdom centering on how Christ can enhance your spiritual transformation by reframing from within our characters strengths, attitude, and behaviors and directing them outward to a purpose-driven life of discipleship and mission.
