The preached retreat, "Experiencing God: Our Interior Movements Explained Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ignatian Spirituality" . This retreat will use Ignatian Contemplation, imaginative prayer, and the senses to engage in conversation with God. The focus will be on understanding our interiority using the model of the Internal Family System (IFS) as a means to intimate prayer with God/Jesus/Spirit. We all have parts of us that are sad, joyful, anxious, discouraged, happy, funny, and many more. Having such parts is a natural aspect of adult life, and sharing such interior movements in a familiar way with God/Jesus/Spirit is what Ignatian prayer helps us to do. Our three days together will consist of multiple daily talks, mass, and an optional individual time to meet virtually with an IFS-informed director to unblend from interior parts. There is ample time to pray. This retreat is practical, encouraging curiosity, connection, conversation and compassion with ourselves and with God.
