RENEWED HEARTS, COMMISSIONED LIVES
Praying Well to Make the Message Known

JUL. 31-AUG. 2 2026

Come and be renewed. Come and listen again to the call from the mountain. Come and rediscover how prayer forms the heart, strengthens the mission, and sends us forth to make the message known.

ABOUT THE RETREAT

Renewed Hearts,
Commissioned Lives:
Praying Well to Make the Message Known

What if prayer were not only something we do, but the place where our hearts are renewed and our mission begins?

Even committed members of the La Salette Laity can sometimes experience prayer as routine, obligation, or something separate from mission.

Renewed Hearts, Commissioned Lives: Praying Well to Make the Message Known invites participants to return to Mary’s words at La Salette: “Come near, my children.” Through this retreat, participants will rediscover prayer as a personal, life-giving relationship with God and as the source of reconciliation, compassion, service, and mission.

Participants will be renewed in heart, strengthened in their La Salette identity, and sent forth to make Mary’s message known through their words, choices, relationships, and daily lives.

The suggested donation for the retreat is $300 per person. This includes full-board accommodation, all meals, lodging for the duration of the retreat, and all retreat materials.

Your donation helps make this retreat possible and supports the mission of providing a peaceful, prayerful, and welcoming space for spiritual renewal.

First Talk
(Fr. Ted Brown, MS)

A Call from the Mountain:

Our Lady’s Invitation to Prayer

Before Mary sent the children, she invited them to come near. Many committed La Salette Laity members can become so busy serving, organizing, and “doing the mission” that prayer slowly becomes secondary. This talk returns participants to the mountain of La Salette, where Mary’s invitation to closeness renews prayer as the foundation of mission.

Second Talk
(Fr. Rosanno Soriano, MS)

Learning to Pray:

Moving Beyond Words to Relationship

Prayer is more than words; it is relationship.

Many people struggle with prayer because they feel distracted, dry, repetitive, or unsure of what to say, or if they are praying “correctly.”

This talk helps participants discover prayer as honest relationship with God—rooted in trust, listening, silence, and presence.

Third Talk

Abide In Me:

Prayer as the Source of All Mission

Mission without prayer becomes exhaustion.

Generous service can become tiring when it is not rooted in Christ.

This talk speaks to burnout, spiritual fatigue, and the habit of serving from pressure rather than grace and it invites participants to abide in Christ and rediscover prayer as the source of peace, strength, and fruitful mission.

Fourth Talk
(Fr. Benjamim Alfredo, MS)

Love that Sends:

How Prayer Leads Us Beyond Ourselves

True prayer enlarges the heart.

It is easy for prayer to remain private, comfortable, or disconnected from the needs of others.

This talk shows how prayer forms compassion, forgiveness, and courageous love that sends us toward reconciliation and service.

Fifth Talk
(Fr. Flavio Gillio, MS)

Sent for the World:

The Mission at the Heart of La Salette

The La Salette message was never meant to remain on the mountain. It is for the world.

Mission can often feel like an extra task, a program, or something reserved for others, rather than a way of living for the healing and reconciliation of the world.

This talk helps participants embrace their La Salette identity as a life for the world. Through their words, choices, relationships, and service, they become the living expression of Mary’s message.
